The Benefits Of Eating Living Foods

The advantages of the raw food diet are many. In 1940, Dr E.B Szekely, who introduced The Essence Gospels, founded a healing centre in Mexico based on the dietary principles described in the Gospels. Over the next thirty years at Rancho La Puerto Retreat more than 120,000 people experienced a 90% recovery rate from all types of health problems, including cancer, by following an 80-100% live-vegetarian diet. Rancho La Puerto inspired the creation of many other Essence-based residential detoxification and healing programs throughout the world that have seen similar results.

Interestingly, as I’ve switched to a 100% raw diet, I don’t need to eat anywhere near the quantity of food I was eating before. This way of eating is so nutrient dense and not draining your body of energy in difficult digestion, you’ll notice a difference in your energy immediately.

Some time ago I started to develop stiffness in my joints, especially my lower back and hips, even though I was doing regular yoga. I put it down to dropping progesterone due to menopause. I used coffee and sugar to pick me up thinking one a day can’t be that bad, and ate what would be considered a fairly good diet. But when I shifted to a raw diet, the stiffness from my back and hips started to fade away. My joints just felt freer. Even if you have no intention of going raw, try replacing your coffee for a green smoothie and feel the difference.

Alkalizing

The main reason for this improvement is that a living food diet is more alkalizing. Joint stiffness is often a symptom of a too acid body and a precursor to inflammatory conditions like arthritis.

Enzymes

Living foods are full of enzyme activity. Enzymes help you digest food and are the catalysts for every metabolic reaction in your body. Without these enzymes, there can be no cell division, energy production or brain activity.

Oxygen

Oxygen is one of our most important nutrients, and living foods give you plenty. Oxygen’s more available in uncooked food. Fresh fruit and vegetables are up to 90 percent water and 60 percent oxygen. It’s already been proven that cancer can’t exist in highly oxygenated environments.

Only uncooked and unprocessed foods can provide us with the full range of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, oxygen, fibre and other nutrients our bodies require to run like a well-oiled machine. Living foods are full of vital essence, especially leafy greens, providing optimal health and regeneration.

The amount of energy or vital essence in your body determines the degree of health, youthfulness and vibrancy you experience. It is the key element that brings health, happiness and success into your life.

Try adding this to tonight’s dinner.

Brazil-Broccoli Mash

1 clove garlic
1 pinch ground black pepper
1 tsp sea salt
1 cup Brazil nuts
2 cups broccoli chopped

Process the garlic, pepper, and salt into tiny pieces. Add Brazil nuts and process into a powder. Empty this powder into a bowl and set aside. Next, process broccoli while slowly adding the Brazil nut powder back in.

Serve with Miso Gravy

¼ cup miso
1 Tbs apple cider vinegar
1 clove garlic
½ orange, peeled and seeded
1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
2 Tbs pitted dates

Blend miso, vinegar, garlic orange, oil and dates until smooth.
Will keep in the fridge for 4 days

    that’s the thing with processed foods. They are missing the natural enzymes and so many other things that help our body’s to natural stay healthy and in balance.
