How does Jennifer Lopez keep in shape so well? What does she eat and what diet is she on to look so great?
This is what we know about Jennifer Lopez:
Jenifer Lopez is a health fanatic who starts her day with a green spinach smoothie.
“I make an unbelievably healthy green smoothie! It’s full of fiber, full of omega 3, protein, and it’s a really great meal replacement or recovery drink.”
Jennifer Lopez doesn’t starve herself or grealty restict her eating to stay in shape; instead, she eats foods that are naturally healthy, fill her with energy and help her body burn fat.
This is a sample of the “J-Lo meal plan”:
- Breakfast: Two low-carb quiche biscuits with bacon and chives, and sliced avocado or tomatoes.
- Snack: Celery sticks with nut butter.
- Lunch: Salad with grilled chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, artichoke hearts, and carrots.
- Snack time: Sliced turkey rolled around bell pepper sticks and dipped in mustard, salsa, or hot sauce.
- Dinner: A one-sheet pan meal of Mediterranean shrimp and charred vegetables.
According to Jennifer’s nutritionist Haylie Pomroy, Lopez’s Metabolism Revolution diet plan is designed in a way to increase metabolism function. The diet is packed full of lean proteins and non-starchy veggies as well as some healthy fats (like monounsaturated fat found in Olive Oil) and complex carbs (like sweet Potato)

She believes it helps her skin stay clear and moist and make her look the freshest she can be. And it works!
She drinks a lot of water after she exercises: “I try to keep my body hydrated and well rested after every workout,” she said. “That way, I’m ready to hit it hard again the next day.”
10-Day Diet Challenge: no-sugar, low-carb
Jennifer Lopez did the 10-day diet challenge of no-sugar, low-carb and continued for the full 10 days. She says:
“It’s day 10, we did it, we’re here,” J-Lo said in her latest Instagram Story about finally finishing her diet challenge. “We still have the rest of the day, but I’m feeling pretty good that we can finish.”
J-Lo struggled with the 10-day diet challenge telling us that it hadn’t been easy.
“Alex and I have struggled through,” she said. “Anybody who stuck with us through the whole 10-day challenge, congratulations.
J-Lo explained how the diet’s been making her feel. “The first and second day is when you realize you’re addicted to sugar,” she said. “It’s like a drug.”
22 day vegan diet
J-Lo says the 22 day vegan diet helped her lose 10 lbs. While it’s difficult to tell if she is promoting the diet plan or if that really did help her lose weight, she does look great!
J-Lo’s trainer Tracy Anderson says J-Lo does rigorous high intensity dance workouts along with light weight training exercises.
Samuel L. Jackson says a vegan diet is responsible for a whopping 40lb weight loss. He says he feels better than ever. The thing is, you can be a FAT vegetarian. All you have to do is eat too many sugars, like sweets or pasta. It still comes down to calories.
You need to take in less than you burn to lose weight. If you are already overweight, eat high calorie sweets, don’t workout regularly, and then keep doing that during a 22 day vegan challenge, you could end up not losing weight at all.
Jenifer Lopez never misses a workout.
“Very rarely will I skip my workout,” she says. “Sometimes, I work too late the night before, and I’m like, ‘Ugh, I can’t do this.’ But I tell myself, ‘Just do it. It’s only an hour.’ It’s just talking yourself off the ledge of being a lazy bum.”

What people have to realize is that J-Lo is very conscious of her backside. If she didn’t work out she would still have a big rear end, but it would not have the same curves.
She realizes that it takes works to keep the guys drooling when they see a new J-Lo video. To make this happen you can use plank exercises to tone your rear end up. To start you will get into a position just like you would for push-ups. The difference is that instead of getting down on your hands you will get on your elbows. Once your are in position you need to concentrate to tighten your abs. After this you should squeeze your gluts for 30 seconds. You can repeat this several times. This may not seem like much, but it can after wonderful results over time.
Don’t forget about the importance of squats. You should do about 15 reps in 2 sets during the day. This is a surefire way to add great curves to your back end area with very little effort.
Kettle Bells Exercises
J-Lo faves the kettle bells for working out because it gives her the ability to work her upper body muscles. The great thing about kettle bell exercises is that there are multiple routines that you can do. Celebrities like J-Lo can start with the kettle bell swing and move on to the single leg dead lift. The reverse lunge may also be something to consider for this type of kettle bell exercising.
The thing that you have to remember the most is not to overdo it. For J-Lo, 10 reps with the single leg dead lift may be good for one day. She may switch things up the next time with 10 reps of the kettle swing for the next workout though.
Dance Like No One is Watching
The last, but certainly not the least, of the steps involves dancing. J-Lo practices hard. She incorporates a lot of dance moves into her shows. She is not doing all the dancing that she was known for in the early stages of her career, but she still likes to move. Salsa dancing can be a great way to shake and move in a way that can help you stay in shape. J-Lo has mentioned that a good cardio workout is the key to obtaining a body like hers. People that do not necessary like to workout may consider implementing this into their cardio regiment.
“Always get enough sleep. I can’t stress this enough!” she says.
“Ideally I would love to get nine or 10 hours of sleep, but either way, I always make sure I get at least eight. I also definitely think beauty comes from within—you have to keep your mind, soul, body, and spirit in sync. I am a firm believer in meditating, and when you are happy and feel joy and love, you radiate beauty.”
She always looks after her skin.
“I always, always wash my face after a workout. That helps keep my pores clean and my skin feeling healthy.”
“Then I’ll usually put on moisturizer and sunscreen, with maybe a little makeup if I’m going out or moisturizer and eye cream if it’s the evening.
