Just Because it’s “Edible” Doesn’t Mean I Would Eat It

-

When I saw this today, my heart swooned a little.

It is a Super Mario Wedding Cake. Complete with turtle shells, clouds with eyes, question mark boxes, and gold coins. A big green tube, and pirana flowers. Pure beauty. This is a work of art.

I love Classic 8 bit Nintendo. So does Justin. In fact, I adore all things a bit Nintendo. The console. Game Genie. Super Mario Brothers/Duck Hunt. I still have immense fun playing all sorts of Nintendo games. 8 bit graphic can be just as beautiful to me as the Mona Lisa. True dat.

Personally, my favorite Nintendo game of all time is Super Mario Brothers 2.

At this moment, I think this is one of the most beautiful and creative wedding cakes I have ever seen. This cake deserves 1000 photos taken of it.

And then, I thought about one word: “edible”.

Apparently, this cake is edible. What makes it edible? Sugar? Flour? Almond paste? And what is “almond paste” really made of? It hardly resembles almonds.

It may be a work of art made out of “edible” items, but that doesn’t mean I want to eat it.

I will continue to be in awe of this cake. And someday, I will have a cake at a special event. It will be this amazing artistic creation. All the invited guests will all look at it. Take photos of it. And then have a massive food fight with it. But we will not eat it.

Until the food fight happens, go have a food fight with sweet mangos!

Heidi
My name is Heidi, and I have been eating a raw food diet since 2004. Before I found raw food, I have tried all sorts of different ways of eating including: standard vegetarian, fare, vegan, food, macrobiotic, Marilu Henner's programs, food combining, slow food, and more, I followed along on social and did everything I could. I understood the idea of Raw Food since I first learned of it in 2000, but it wasn't until 2004 that I started making raw food a daily part of my life.
