7 Natural Remedies for Stress

As long as you are there in this world, you cannot escape from stress. While stress is unavoidable, there are many things you can do to mitigate the harmful effects of stress. Listed here are 7 natural remedies for stress:

1. A Hot Bath

Nothing is as relaxing as a hot water bath. Lying down in a hot tub is even more relaxing than taking a shower. Hot water slows down blood circluation and relaxes the body. Having a hot water nath at night before retiring is one the best ways to de-stress and have a deep, restful sleep.

2. Walking

Walking is an excellent way to release stress. It draws blood from the brain and brings it to the body and legs, thereby releiving stress. Walking in parks or woods will not only provide you with sufficient exercise but also relax your mind by watching the nature.

3. Herbal Teas

Herbal teas like Sage and Chamomile are great ways to relax your mind and body. A little bit of honey can also be added to the tea. Many find it relaxing to have the teas at bedtime.

4. Hot Milk with Cinnamon and Honey

Hot milk with Cinnamon and Honey is a great natural remedy for stress. It helps calm down stressed nerves and it tastes great too.

5. Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is one of the best natural remedies for stress. You can use aromatherapy in a bath or shower, or it can be used alone. Various smells are known to help eliminate stress. Lavender, geranium, sage, juniper berry, marjoram, chamomile, and other smells are excellent for eliminating stress in your life so use them on a regular basis to help you cure stress.

6. Ayurvedic Herbs

Ayurvedic herbs like Ashwagandha, Brahmi and St. John Wort are renowned for their abilities to de-stress and rejuvenate. They can either be had in the form of diffusion or capsules.

7. Basil Leaves

Basil leaves are known to be useful in helping to eliminate stress. Simply chewing these leaves a couple of times a day can help you naturally reduce stress. You may also want to use basil in your food to add it to your diet to help eliminate the stress in your life.

These are just some of the natural remedies for stress to help you de-stress and reclaim life. It’s important to realize that the earlier you become aware of the symptoms of stress and take necessary steps to control it, the better. Our body and mind is like a spring. Stress cause it to lose it’s elasticity and makes it rigid. The earlier you work on it, the easier it’ll be regain it’s suppleness.
