Hey Yoga Dudes. It’s time for the second limb of the eight limbs of yoga. In picture cards. Yehaw!
We’re moving on from Yama, the governing principles of outward conduct, to Niyama – the personal observances. These aren’t ideas simply meant to be studied. They’re actions and behaviours, meant to be embodied and practiced in everyday life.
Niyama is all about the way you treat yourself. Consider it a little code of ethics for living a healthy, soulful, compassionate and happy life. You know that old saying – treat others the way you’d like to be treated? Well do that. It’s good. But in the case of Niyama, try treating yourself the way you’d like others to treat you. Enjoy. x
