Raw Chocolate Jungle Peanut Crunch Bar

After we opened the treasure box full of Empowered Foods and had the Wild Jungle Peanut Butter Cups, we knew there were some things we wanted to share with some of our cooked food friends.

So we brought over the box of treats, and let our friends decide which raw delight they wanted to try. We are lucky to have such adventurous friends. Our friends (who are shy and want to remain nameless) unanimously chose the Chocolate Jungle Peanut Crunch bar as their first choice*.

We opened up the chocolate bar and unfolded the crisp copper colored foil. The hardest part was trying to split up the pieces evenly so everyone could have their fair share.

The perfection of the appearance of this bar was remarkable. By only looking at this chocolate bar, you would have no way to tell if it was raw, or just another fine luxury gourmet chocolate bar.

I sliced up the bar into even pieces and gave everyone a piece.

Our friends noticed the familiar aroma of dark chocolate as we all simultaneously bit into our share of the chocolate bar.

Let’s see what we individually thought about our experience:

Justin: When I was eating it, I couldn’t tell the difference between this and a “real” chocolate bar. Same shapes, color, texture, and mouth feel. It was great for Hershey’s bar nostalgia, but tasted better than the best European chocolate I have ever had. Having raw foods like this, even occasionally is a plus in my book.

Heidi: This bar was great. Just like regular chocolate, but better. Full flavor, slightly creamy, very dark. The peanuts were nice in there, but not neccessary. I guess I am a simple chocolate kind of girl.

Our Cooked Friends wanted to tell our readers that they think that other cooked food eaters would really enjoy this chocolate bar very much. They had no idea raw food tasted this good!

In fact, our friends have been asking us to bring over more raw food! They want to taste our recipes! They even ate salad with us this weekend! This is the real magic of raw chocolate: it opens up people’s minds to the amazing potential of raw food.

For some, raw chocolate is the gateway to raw food. If this is the key that gets people into how amazing raw food is, we’re all for it.

~ Heidi and Justin

Our cooked friends also tried one other Empowered Foods treat, so tune in later this week to see which other raw treat they tried

So, When is Hershey's Going Raw?

About To Be Devoured
By Both Raw Foodists and Non-Raw Friends

My name is Heidi, and I have been eating a raw food diet since 2004. Before I found raw food, I have tried all sorts of different ways of eating including: standard vegetarian, fare, vegan, food, macrobiotic, Marilu Henner's programs, food combining, slow food, and more, I followed along on social and did everything I could. I understood the idea of Raw Food since I first learned of it in 2000, but it wasn't until 2004 that I started making raw food a daily part of my life.
