Raw Food Travel Gadget: Swiss Spice

You’ve read the many raw food books with the relatively unhelpful two paragraphs on traveling while raw. Yeah. I know. I’ve read all 30 paragraphs, and they all say the same thing: Bring dried fruit. Order salads. Bring your own sea salt and your own raw salad dressing from home.

Very helpful. Yeah, right.

So when we find something that may be helpful for a traveling raw foodist, we are here, sharing with you the resources so you will go beyond the same two paragraphs and be able to travel 2,000 miles while eating raw along the way.

Today’s gadget comes from Switzerland. It’s called Swiss Spice, and it appears to be the ultimate portable salt and pepper shaker.

Swiss spice has a special seal on each compartment to keep humidity out. It is water proof. You can climb mountains and it won’t shatter. And with dimensions of 2.4 x 2.3 x 0.75 inches it is designed to fit perfectly inside your pocket.

Granted, you may not be climbing the Swiss alps anytime soon, but I know you are going out with your family in a few weeks for {insert family holiday here}, and you are going to order “the salad”. If you get yourself a Swiss Spice, you can have a handy device to handle your Himalayan Salt and your own raw spice blend. It may even be a great conversation piece. Hey, it might even make a great present!*

The test kitchen here at Raw Food Right Now has yet to try Swiss Spice, but we believe it may be possible that Swiss Spice can hold a liquid raw salad dressing!

If you are interested in purchasing Swiss Spice, you can order one online at Amazon.com. For more info check out the official Swiss Spice website.

And if this doesn’t convince you, check out these nifty icons!

Happy travels, wherever you are!

* Swiss Spice comes prepackaged with classic table salt and tasteless black pepper. If you are planning on giving this as a gift, we recommend you remove the salt and pepper and replace with delicious sea or mineral salts of your choice as well as a tasty spice blend.

My name is Heidi, and I have been eating a raw food diet since 2004. Before I found raw food, I have tried all sorts of different ways of eating including: standard vegetarian, fare, vegan, food, macrobiotic, Marilu Henner's programs, food combining, slow food, and more, I followed along on social and did everything I could. I understood the idea of Raw Food since I first learned of it in 2000, but it wasn't until 2004 that I started making raw food a daily part of my life.
