Start Working Out: Ultimate Motivation to Wake Up & Workout!

Hi, you haven’t been working out and it’s the little voice in your head… I know, kind of weird right? I’ve been thinking, and you and me need to have a talk about exercise today…

You woke up this morning, hoping today would be different. You woke up wanting to start change in your life. You woke up sick of feeling sick. You woke up tired of being tired. You woke up this morning and thought for a moment that maybe you were worth it. You woke up and wondered for a moment if this was the day your life would change. You woke up with out knowing if today was the first day you would go with out that thing you are addicted to.

You woke up and wondered was this the day you would start working out, and not stop. Today you woke up with information swimming around in your head, all of the truth before you, knowing what you have to do. Today you woke up and felt fear because you do not know if you are strong enough. You woke up today and you looked at yourself and so badly want to change. You stepped into your clothes and wondered if maybe this was one of the last times you would hate looking into the mirror.

You woke up today and started making decisions, to change or not change. You woke up and decided that very moment if today you would start your quest of health, for you, for your family, for your life. You woke up today and walked into the world, and you were scared. You woke up today and started to doubt yourself. You woke up and started to wonder if you are really worth it. You woke up today and did not know if you were ready to change your life, to take charge of it. You woke up today and started making excuses, started to go down the same old paths. You woke up today and you questioned yourself, you questioned if you even care. You woke up today and you forgot who you were for a moment. You woke up and realized that the person you are becoming is not the person you want to be. You woke up today and thought that maybe tomorrow was a better day to start changing your life.

WAKE UP. Do not let another moment go by living in the ways that you so desperately wish that you could change. You alone decide who you want to be, and what you want your life to be. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise. You are worth every craving, every exhausted breath, every tear. You are worth the fight. You are worth waking up and finding it with in yourself to change they way you have been for so long. I can’t do it for you, your spouse can’t do it for you, your friends and family can’t do it for you. You need to wake up, today. You need to see all that I see in you, you need to see that you are completely worthy of being healthy, being with out disease, being with out the pain. I know that it is inside of you. I know all of those nagging thoughts, the ones that you think to yourself over and over and over again. The ones that tell you that you are a failure.

WAKE UP. Stop the tapes, stop it all. Rid yourself of all who question what you want to do in your life. Do what is best for you, do what is best for your health. Embrace the truth about what you put into your body. Do not run from all that you are learning, do not let anyone get in your way. Decide right now that you are worth every bit of effort, every attempted meal, every step in moving your body. Decide that you will put every thing else aside to save your life.

WAKE UP. Accept that you have been lied. Accept that you might have been wrong yourself. Get over your pride and your ego long enough to realize it does not matter anymore. Wake up today and realize that from here forward you can decide to discover the truths about why it’s been so hard for so long. And decide to change.

WAKE UP today and start the path. Start right now. Throw away whatever you need to, don’t go to that happy hour after work, throw away the number for the pizza place. Start living your life like you mean it. Start living your life like you are the only one who can save it. Start living your life like you care about it.

WAKE UP today and think about every single thing that you do. Every single bite of food, ever single moment of your day. Decide if your life depended on it. Decide that you, today, right this very moment are going to finally do what it takes to thrive, and you will not accept no as an answer from anyone, including yourself.

Today be aware, be fully aware of what you are doing to your body. Pause for a minute before you eat your meal, before you sit on the sofa, before you overwork yourself. Pause for a minute  and ask yourself if what you are doing is creating health or disease. Every thought that goes into your mind, stop it, grab it and decide if it is one that will make you thrive in life or if it is harming your life.

Let today be the day you look back on and say that it was the day that you finally woke up. That you finally stopped coming up with all of the reasons why you CAN’T and all the reasons why you CAN. Let today be the day that you no longer think of yourself as a failure, but as a fully capable person who is living the healthiest life you know how to. Today decide that you will become an expert in your body, in all of the things you put into it. Today decide that your body and your mind is worth it, and that you are powerful enough to change it.

And if no one has ever believed in you, if no one has ever thought that you were strong enough, if no one including yourself has thought you had it in you – let me be the person to tell you that I believe in you. And I know that you can do all that you dream of, that you can lead the healthy life that you want, that you can break free from all that is holding you back. I believe in you, and it’s about time you start doing the same.

So tell me, what is it that you want to accomplish (health or otherwise) what have you been holding back from? What is it that you know needs some changing, but you keep doubting yourself? Because it’s time for you to let it all out – all that you are wanting your life to be, all that you are wanting your health to be. Write anything, write the reasons you want to change, write the reasons why you’ve been holding back. Let today be the last day that you let these thoughts come into your conscience. And let it all go. Today you woke up, today you discovered you were stronger than you ever knew, today you finally realized that you are worth it.

    I struggle with feeling inferior to people living conventionally sometimes. I love my choices and lifestyle, but on an “ugly” day or a sad day, the doubts come along…

    Things that have really helped me lately:
    1. Remembering to take lots of deep breaths throughout my day, even when I sense just a tiny bit of tension or negativity coming on. This has relieved an amazing amount of physical pain and mental worry.

    2. Positive self-talk: I have been reminding myself that I have more than enough time to get things done, that life is for enjoying, that drama/facebook/fears/media etc. doesn’t matter, etc. I think about life and all the positive possibilties. I am making a list of things I want to do, even small stuff, so that when I realize I am sititng in front of a teevee or working my days away, I will know what I can do instead. The more I remind myself of this type of stuff daily, the happier I am feeling.
