Women’s Guide to Happiness


Universally, we all want to discover true happiness.

While this is a universal truth when it comes to people, we all go off in our own directions trying to discover this happiness.

There are many individuals who get married because they feel as if this will create happiness.

And then there are others that have children because they feel that parenting will make them happy.

Then, you have those that push and work themselves hard because either work makes them happy or making money makes them happy.

Welcome to the ultimate guide to discover true happiness! Here, I will introduce you to ways that you can discover YOUR happiness!

Your Lifestyle

If you are attempting to discover true happiness, the first place that you will want to start is your lifestyle.

While there are many different aspects of life that contribute to our overall feelings of “happiness”, it has been found that our lifestyle choices have a lot to do with the level of happiness that we experience.

Lifestyle factors that you want to look at are:

  • The people that you socialize with
  • The living conditions that you are subjected to
  • The area that you live in
  • Your involvement with the community
  • Your religious beliefs

If you find that you are unhappy with any aspect of your life, you should put your best foot forward and adjust them so that you can achieve that happiness.

Your Thoughts

Your thoughts and the attitude that you have when it comes to your life and life in general plays a major role in happiness.

It has been found that the individuals who display a high level of optimism actually go further in life, and experience finding happiness with their life.

If you work to ensure that you develop specific traits and characteristics of being optimistic, you are likely to encourage yourself to a life of happiness.

Goal Setting

If you feel as if you have a difficult time acquiring happiness, it may be time to set some goals. The process of consistently setting goals is an effective measure when it comes to trying to obtain happiness. Everyone should have goals. Even the smallest of goals can make you feel better about yourself and your life. Just be certain to start small and then work your way up.

1. Cultivating Inner Peace

Inner Peace and harmony is important for your well being.

You can control the outside influences of your emotions and actions. You can maintain harmony in your life.

It is a state of being mentally or spiritually at peace. You have enough knowledge and understanding to keep strong in the face of stress and other outside influences.

There are many ways to accomplish inner peace in your life. Part of my journey was Seva.

“Seva” is a Sanskrit word meaning selfless service. Seva is doing good work, helping others, without attachment, and without any desire for personal gain.

Performing Seva on a regular basis is one way for us to become more aware of our connection with the divine. Just one small act of Seva a day can bring about tremendous spiritual growth and inner peace.

Reactive or Proactive?

You become overwhelmed by emotions. You allow your emotions to determine your reactions and attitude, as well as your actions.

The circumstances that surround you are what you react to. Your boss upset you. The kids got the carpet dirty right after you cleaned it. The woman in the grocery was rude.

Do you get angry with them? Do you react to that emotion and that circumstance at that time?

If you learn to become proactive and self-disciplined, and understand that you cannot always control the circumstances around you, you can at least be prepared for them.

The Right Attitude

Deal with life straight up and face truth and reality. Solve the problems that you have. Solving problems promotes growth and teaches you problems shouldn’t be avoided.

Practice Good Beliefs

Practice all of the good beliefs you have. Maintaining harmony in your life comes from your beliefs and practicing them.

Your Place In The World

You have a part in the plan of life. Only you can know what that is. Begin to live in peace by giving priority to doing good things. Giving of yourself is one of the most selfless things you can ever do.

Positive Thinking

Think positive thoughts, they are powerful influences in your life. Then perform those positive thoughts. Learn to replace negative thinking with positive thinking.

Making Peace

If you are in discord with someone else, you need to make peace. When you harbor bad thoughts towards someone else, you don’t have harmony within yourself.

Self and Motives

Motives should never be self-seeking or for self-glorification. You will realize the inner peace and well being you obtain through helping others.

Positive Thoughts for Well Being

  •     Each time you meet someone, say something encouraging.
  •     Each time you come into a situation, think of some good thing to bring such as a helping hand.
  •     Judge your thoughts, is what you are thinking bringing you inner peace?
  •     Be a peacemaker, take harmony into unpeaceful situations.
  •     If you love people enough, most will respond lovingly. Even if they don’t, you have given love.
  •     There is always a way to do the right thing.
  •     You are not detached from your fellow humans. Well being and inner peace come with realizing oneness of all.

2. Establishing Productive Relationships

It is a known fact that, throughout our lives, we experience a number of relationships.

Relationships are associations with others in our lives that require effort and consistent maintenance if they are to be productive and sound.

Relationships that are considered to be “productive” can often endure many trials and tribulations and stand the test of time.

It should be in everyone’s mindset to ensure that the relationships that we share with others are valued and developed. Here, you will be introduced to establishing relationships that are productive.

There are several different reasons why establishing relationships that are productive is an important endeavor for each and every single one of us.

We can conclude from the research and studies of Abraham Maslow, a famous psychologist, that we each have a number of needs that are important when it comes to explaining motivation of humans.

It was once believed that a person’s basic biology, the power that they held, and their level of achievement had everything to do with the way they felt in life, and how they interacted with others. However, Abraham Maslow established a Hierarchy of Needs that displays just why relationships are so vital to our well-being.

In the Hierarchy of Needs, Maslow indicates that we all have needs that are related to our personal safety and security.

This is actually the first stage in which relationships are important. We all need to feel secure.

This includes being comfortable around those people that we know, the people that we live around, and the people that we work with.

While this need often includes areas of interest, such as shelter and employment that is regular and steady, this is where the need for productive and effective relationships first comes into play. As we continue to explore the Hierarchy of Needs, we discover the next one is social.

The social level of Maslow’s Hierarchy states that, as people, we all need to experience the satisfaction of belonging, we all need to feel love and give love, and affection is also important.

Maslow determined that these needs could easily be fulfilled by relationships that we share with:

  •     Those that are in our family
  •     Our circle of friends
  •     Those that we work with
  •     People we go to school with
  •     Those that are part of our social functions such as church
  •     Those that live in the same neighborhood that we do.

This allows each of us to feel that we have companionship, that we are accepted, we are respected, and that we hold a value in the life of another. Not having productive relationships can break down this need, and cause many complications.

As we continue to grow physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually, our need for productive relationships also grows. If this need is not fulfilled, it can have many devastating effects on our lives.

Many do not realize it, but lacking the ability to interact with others in a personally fulfilling manner can result in physiological problems, as well as psychological problems.

The immunity of the body, the ability for the body to properly maintain itself and a break down in the emotional and mental state of the individual can be experienced with the individual that fails to experience productive relationships.

The first step to building effective and productive relationships is to be just as sensitive to other people needs as you expect them to be to yours.

We have all heard the Golden Rule which states Do unto others as you would have them do unto you… – this is a very logical and realistic approach to relationships that you want to experience and maintain in a productive manner.

The next step to productive relationships is to ensure that you know and understand that everyone has value and deserves respect.

Have you ever watched the movie that is called Field of Dreams? If so, you will be familiar with the phrase “if you build it, they will come”.

This phrase can be associated with friendships, and similar types of relationships. If you build it, that is your ability to be receptive to another’s feelings, wants, the desire to be respected, accepted, and loved, they WILL come and stay.

Your life and their life will be all the better for it too. Remember, one of the single most important things that you can do in your life is to focus your energy on, and become an expert on establishing relationships that are considered to be productive.

3. Essential Strategies for Developing Intuition

There are many strategies to developing intuition, which is really a deep understanding of the way things really are.

We all, to some degree, experience intuition at one point or another in our lives.

These moments boil down to times in which we have feelings about certain people, places, situations, and/or events.

We may often refer to intuition as a gut feeling.

In many cases – most, as a matter of fact – we cannot quite explain the things that we feel or sense.

But we know that it is important to pay attention to these emotions.

Here, you will learn some essential strategies to strengthening your intuition.

What Is Intuition?

Individuals all throughout history have attempted to define intuition only to discover that this is a very complicated term to sum up into one definition.

We often hear phrases like sixth sense, gut feeling, or even terms like hunch are used to classify what intuition is.

Intuition stands completely opposite of logic, and rational thought.

It is not a mental process that occurs due to circumstances and events. It is an openness, a reception to vital information that may assist us in some way.

Many may even say that it is a process in which we work through situations in our life. Whatever it is, it has been found that it is quite beneficial to the individual that experiences it.

Developing Intuition

There are many different ways that you can work to actually strengthen intuition. The following outlines some basic steps that can be taken in order to accomplish this task:

  1. The first thing that you should do in order to increase the effectiveness of your intuition is to listen for it.

This means that you should allow the area around you to become quiet and that you should also allow your mind to become quiet. This should be a time where you reflect on your experiences, where you focus on how to handle future events, and similar thoughts in nature.

  2. The next step to developing intuition is to keep yourself open to all possibilities.

There are many situations in which we believe that we have a handle on things, but our inner voice results in our changing paths. Eventually, we often come to the point where we realize that changing paths was the right thing to do.

Being open to all possibilities is an ideal characteristic of the individual who has a strong sense of things to come.

  3. It has been discovered that if a person has creative tendencies, they are more likely to have a stronger sense of intuition. If you want to develop your intuition, it is important to ensure that you participate in activities that will allow you to be creative.

  4. The next method that can be used in developing intuition is to ensure that you always ask questions.

This may be to others, or it may be to yourself. Never lose your natural curiosity. If you do, you will find that your intuition weakens over time.

  5. The next method that you can use in developing intuition is by writing. Keep a diary, a journal, and/or a blog. This can really assist in the area of creativity.


There are many different ways that you can acquire happiness in life. By evaluating your lifestyle, your thoughts, and setting goals, you are sure to discover your happiness.

As you can see, it is not entirely difficult to strengthen your intuition. All it takes is a little patience, some creativity, and the ability to tune in to your emotions and feelings.

Synergy: Any one of these ways to increase happiness in your life may not have that much impact by themselves. Yet when you begin to do them all together you can notice a substantial differences in how you view the world around you.

Try some out and do them together! Practice your intuition for what makes you truly happy, then apply self discipline to your relationships, your work and your love life.
