Words Have Weight

-

It’s so easy to say nasty things. Even things that aren’t nasty but are tinged with the stink of glum. We’re all guilty of it. Passing judgement on someone that walks past, complaining about the same situation over and over and over again, or saying something snappy and mean-spirited for no real reason at all.

But words, they matter. Everything vibrates and carries with it energy. Think of it this way. You can’t see perfume once it’s absorbed into the skin but you can still smell it. Words are like that. Once they’re uttered they seem not to exist but their impact lingers, permeating the things and people around.

Words are pieces of energy and if you choose your words carefully then the energy around you will resonate with your gentle, optimistic, thoughtful or happy approach.  If you mindlessly utter negative sentiments, winging about or putting down people or things in your life, then you’re creating more negative energy which will benefit no one.

That’s not to say that you can’t discuss events that aren’t cheery or that you need to sugar coat situations that are dismal. What it does mean however, is that the words you choose and the way you verbalize your thoughts has an impact, not only on how you feel but also on the energy that you send out into the world. If you choose to speak mindfully and carefully, you can start to do away with negative tendencies and instead cultivate a more positive space for you to enjoy and share.

Words, they really matter. What you say goes beyond the utterance. It isn’t just a word or phrase that disappears into non-existence after it’s been said. Words carry weight, even if they can’t be weighed or cradled. Choose to speak from a place of love and compassion, empowering yourself to create positive energy in your life and in this world.
